PGI Workstation Compilers and Tools

Parallel Fortran, C and C++ Compilers and tools for 32-bit and 64-bit AMD64 and IA32 Processor-based Linux/Win32 Workstations.

PGI Workstation-class compilers and tools are for 32-bit x86 (AMD* AthlonXP*, Intel* Pentium* 4, Intel Xeon*), 64-bit AMD64 technology (AMD Opteron*) and 64-bit IA32 EM64T technology (Intel Xeon-64) processor-based workstations with up to 4 CPU running Linux/x86 or Win32 (WNT/W2K/WXP) operating systems.

Outstanding single-processor performance, uncommon reliability, support for most common extensions, and automatic or user-directed parallelization for shared-memory parallel systems add up to compilers that "just work" for users migrating from RISC/UNIX workstations and servers to 32-bit x86 or 64-bit AMD64 technology processor-based systems.

The PGI Workstation compilers along with the OpenMP Linux debugger PGDBG and PGPROF profiler allow a single user to compile, debug, and profile on the workstation on which the PGI compilers are installed. Executables are constrained to use at most 4 processors, and can be executed on any compatible system regardless of whether the PGI compilers are installed.
